After the colorful autumn, finally, it began snowing in Chongqing’s high mountain regions. And then, the snow-wrapped winter landscapes turned up overnight. Here are some beautiful places for appreciating and playing with snow in Chongqing and the surrounding areas. Enjoy yourself with your family and friends!
Chengkou County is always the first to meet the snowy condition in Chongqing each year. It has started snowing as early as October 18 in Huang’anba Scenic Area, causing a stir in Chongqing people’s Moments. Just the other day, the high altitude area in Huang’anba once again underwent the temperature-dropping and snowing weather. Looking ahead, you can see miles of gorges and stretches of forests covered with snow, like a wonderful wash painting.

How to play: The nature lovers can watch the flocks and herds in the wide colorful lawn. The colored leaves in the colorful forest and the falling snow set each other off, thus giving birth to a fairytale beauty.

Since the early hours of November 7, a heavy snow has suddenly swept Xuebao Mountain in Kaizhou District. The swirling snow, like elves, seemed both real and imaginary, to decorate the world. A spectacular rime landscape was therefore born on the mountain at an elevation of more than 2,000 meters. Taking a broad view, you will see various snow-capped trees stretching to the horizon, feeling relaxed and pleasant.

The best time to enjoy the snowy weather here is from December to January. Besides, there are also other options, such as exploring Xiabing Cave, building a snowman, throwing snowballs and going camping on the snowfield. Hongchi Dam has also established the largest outdoor ski resort with the most complete supporting facilities in Southwest China. In addition to usual snowmobiles and snowballs, it has added the projects including chariots, snowmobiles, polar sledges and so on. During the festival, there are firework displays in the snow.
