At 3:00 am on December 10, Huaying Mountain, in high altitude regions of downtown Chongqing, embraced its first snow. Although the snow was small, crystal clear snowflakes were accumulated on the branches of numerous trees on the mountains. The endless whiteness made people relaxed and happy. In addition, with the coming of snow, the mountain ushered in an “icicle” scenery there. So, how about viewings outside the areas?
Snow in the downtown area in Chongqing
With the steep descent of the temperature, the temperature of Jinfo Mountain in Nanchuan District dropped sharply. Meanwhile, the cooling started from the afternoon of December 6, leading to a large area of soft rime scenery, and it seems like a fairytale world.
Nanchuan District
Immersing in the white world, it seems to arrive at the Crystal Palace in the fairytale world. The trees were either covered by white snow, or like clusters of white coral. Except “tree rime” formed by snow-covered trees, there were “sword rime” formed by snow-covered straight withered grass. Meanwhile, and “leaf rime” formed by snow-covered stretching tree leaves in different shapes and with different characteristics. Thus, these rime-sceneries formed a variety of winter landscape.
Nanchuan District
Affected by cold temperature, early in the morning of December 7, high altitude counties and towns in Wushan County such as Zhuxian and Duping welcomed snow successively. Boundless snow falling from the sky made the land extraordinarily beautiful.
Wushan County
Zhuxian Village and Luoping Town in Wushan County all welcomed snow, with roads covered with thin snow. Citizens walked out of their door to have snowball fights, make snowmen and enjoy the snow-covered landscape, enjoying a beautiful encounter with the white snow.

Affected by chilling temperature, since December 8, high mountain regions in Qianjiang District met the first soft rime. There was white snow everywhere in the mountain areas. It formed a beautiful “southern snow kingdom”.
Qianjiang District
On top of Huiqian Mountain (Huiqianshan), trees and grassland dressed up with crystal clear frost flowers. Looking around, glittering and translucent frost flowers were fallen on the branches. In the meanwhile, a large area of soft rime landscape was flickering. Walking among such landscape, you were as if walking in a dreamy and idyllic fairytale world.
Qianjiang District
Affected by coldness, early in the morning of December 7, part of high mountain regions in Fengjie County welcomed snow. Looking around, the ground and the trees were all covered with thick white snow in Gaolvtang Camping Base, Xinglong Town, Fengjie County.
Fengjie County
Chengkou County also welcomed snow, with its minimum temperature dropping below 0℃. The whole county was white due to falling snow, and old-timey streets became more beautiful against the background of snowflakes, attracting numerous citizens to hold their mobiles for shooting this rare snow-covered landscape.
Chengkou County
On December 7, high mountain regions in Wanzhou District began to snow. In the early morning, National Forest Park of Tiefeng Mountain was already white like snow. Flowers, plants, and tree branches all dolled up with crystal clear snowflakes, just like a fairyland on earth, attracting numerous citizens to take photos in the midst of falling snowflakes.

Since the early morning of December 7, Wulong Fairy Mountain witnessed a large area of beautiful soft rime landscape.
Wulong County
The temperature here started to drop since the evening of December 6 and reached -5℃ on the morning of December 7. The sudden drop brought in a lot of ice on scenic roads in addition to a large area of soft rime landscape.
Wulong County
On December 8, Wuxi County welcomed its strongest snowfall since winter of this year. In Tongcheng Village, Tongcheng Town, hillsides and forests were already white, like a fairytale world.
