On January 3, a giant thermometer appeared near the Jinyu Station of CRT Line 3 on Airport Expressway. It is the biggest outdoor thermometer of Chongqing at present, attracting a lot of citizens.

Get off at the Jinyu Station of CRT Line 3 and get out from Exit 3. Along the sidewalk about 100 meters toward Outlets, the huge thermometer will come into view. At 13:00 p.m., January 3, it showed an outdoor temperature of 6°C, the same as that measured by the mobile phone.

Installed by Chongqing Red Wine Museum, this thermometer is 11 meters tall and 4 meters above the ground. It collects the data through the temperature sensor chip by using the outdoor temperature sensing technology. Through the processing and operation in the CPU, the data can control the height of the LED light. Therefore, it can realize real-time broadcast of the outdoor temperature. At night, the light displaying the temperature will become colored.

According to the staff, it is relatively strict in the temperature control for wine storage. So the thermometer is originally installed for real-time monitoring of the outdoor temperature. Unexpectedly, it has attracted quite a few passers-by on Airport Expressway to take pictures and post them on the WeChat, a popular social media in China.
