On January 3, Chongqing held the Economic Work Conference, reviewing the economic work in 2018 and arranging that in 2019.

According to its statement,  the world is facing unprecedented changes in a century. Moreover, China is still and will be an important period of strategic opportunity for development for a long time to come.

In that context, Chongqing must strive to prevent and resolve major risks this year. Moreover, it will effectively control risks in areas such as finance, local government debt, and real estate. It is also necessary to fight for targeted poverty alleviation and insist on seeking truth from facts. With meticulous and diligent efforts, we should pay more attention to the deeply poverty-stricken areas. Poverty alleviation must reach those who truly need it and deliver genuine outcomes. All the people should prevent and control pollution from source. Furthermore, Chongqing will focus on solving major environmental livelihood issues to make the city suitable for living, entrepreneurship, and tourism.

The pioneer in hinterland China

Chongqing is to make new progress and achievements in the innovation-driven development led by big data intelligence. Achieving the commercial, political and civilian value of big data intelligence, we aim to lead the economic transformation and upgrading, improve the government’s administrative capacity, and serve the public. To make new accomplishments in invigorating various market entities, we have to promote the development of state-owned capital.

More support should be given to private enterprises, to create a sound business environment. To accelerate the construction of the pioneer of opening-up in hinterland China, Chongqing should lay emphasis on leading and driving opening-up, to expand channels, improve ports, and optimize platforms. Therefore, it can realize the development of the principal part.

For ecological construction and environmental protection, the city should focus on “construction” “management” and “reformation” and make great efforts to build Chongqing into a city known for its well-preserved natural landscapes.

It is also necessary to make the overall use of various domestic and international resources. Additionally, Chongqing should strengthen targeted and professional investment attraction, improve the effectiveness of investment, enhance the guarantee capability for elements, and strive to achieve optimal allocation and utility maximization of elements.
