Chongqing - The era of 5G is really coming! So, what kind of experience will 5G bring to us? How are the related parties in Chongqing prepared? In addition, what will happen to the 5G application scenarios?
Up to now, at least two places in Chongqing have now made 5G signals available. Soon, more places will follow them.
So, how about the 5G construction in Chongqing?
On January 7, the launching ceremony of 5G application took place in Changshou District. It was held by China Telecom Corporation Limited Chongqing Branch. Also, this is the first official 5G application platform released in Chongqing, marking the entry of Chongqing into the 5G era. A large number of 5G applications such as 5G video call and 5G+VR all appeared at the launch ceremony.
The China Telecom Chongqing Branch said that their next step is to continue to expand the construction scale. The targeted regions are Liangjiang New Area, Changshou District, Wanzhou District, etc. Furthermore, they will develop such 5G applications as car networking, Internet of Things, and high-definition videos.
In 2015, domestic and foreign manufacturers had shown their 5G-related technological achievements and progress on the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Since then, 5G has instantly become the focus in the industry.
For digital consumers, the value of 5G exits in its faster speed compared with that of 4G LTE. Thus, just imagine that 5G signals will support you to download a high-definition movie in a second. By comparison, 4G LTE may take about 10 minutes.
On January 11, the official website of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government issued the Implementation Opinions of the General Office of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government on Promoting the Construction and Development of 5G Communication Network. This is the first appearance of 5G in terms of urban regulations in Chongqing.
