Chongqing - Since Chongqing becomes more and more famous in China, even around the world, there are many things to explore here in this city. This article will give a five-day route of the trip to have fun in Chongqing. This route will begin with a famous ancient battlefield, passes the downtown Chongqing, to green nature. In addition, it will present things of Hechuan Diaoyu Fortress, Hongya Dong, Three Gorges Museum, Huguang Guild Hall of Chongqing, Jiefang Bei, Ordovician Theme Park, Heishan Gu, and Jinfo Mountain.
For the first day, the ancient battlefield is recommended to you. With the trip, you can experience how ancient Chongqing fought for a better life.
As a national emphasis cultural relic unit, the Diaoyu Fortress is one of the 10 cultural symbols in Chongqing, covering 2.5 km2. It is also an ancient battlefield. There was a battle for the defense of Diaoyu Fortress, “Siege of Diaoyu Castle” in 1259. On the one hand, was the final battle between the Song Empire and the Mongolian army. For this day, you are ready to play the heartbeat in Wansheng Ordovician Theme Park. It is in Wansheng District, becoming an exciting and breathtaking activity. Tianluo (river snails) with chilies is recommended, tasting spicy but stimulate your taste buds indeed. In addition, baochao shuangcui (stir-fired gizzard and squid) tastes crisp and is popular with local people.
Wansheng Ordovician Theme Park (abbreviated as WOTP below) has upgraded its installations to prepare for the upcoming mid-autumn festival holiday. As WOTP’s see-through bridge delights the tourism of Wansheng and eventually became popular on Chinese social media. The site is significantly recommended for thrill-seekers as it would impress and terrifies visitors at the same time.

As mentioned above, Heishan Gu has the fresh air there in the mountain. Therefore, embracing nature and taking a deep breath are major activities for this day. In the meantime, you can also exercise when you have fun. Additionally, stir-fried eel is a recommended dish at Heishan Gu. Besides, you can also find tianluo (river snails) and baochao shuangcui (stir-fired gizzard and squid) at Heishan Gu.
The 5A scenic area with around 97% forest coverage, 110km from downtown. It is a popular summer resort with crystal clear streams, steep and densely wooded slopes, and serene valleys. The hike passes through two narrow valleys, 13km long, much of which is along planked walkways above the stream. Meanwhile, in one spot it’s possible to reach out almost touch both sides of the canyon, one in Chongqing and the other in Guizhou.

This amazing place is full of green plants in summer while it is a giant ski resort in winter. The skyline looks gorgeous under the sunshine in summer. People said that it looked like the golden Buddha. Hence, it is called Jinfo Mountain, meaning the mountain of golden Buddha. Jinfo Mountain is rich in bamboo shoots. Therefore, pork or beef with bamboo shoots are recommended dishes at Jinfo Mountain. Meanwhile, pickled bamboo shoots is another special side dish at Jinfo Mountain.
Jinfo Mountain is a treasure-house of plant gene with many the rare varieties and some 500 kinds of animals. In the meanwhile, the place contains many protected species. Jinfo Mountain is a national 5A tourism scenic spot, features distinct Karst geomorphologic landscape and abundant biological diversity. Therefore, it is listed in World Natural Heritage.
