Chongqing - On January 29, Chongqing Lianglu-Cuntan Free Trade Port Area put the automated three-dimensional storage into use. FALEDA (Chongqing), a settled enterprise in the port area researched, developed, and designed this storage system.

Also, the automated storage equipment is an important link in intelligent manufacturing. It attracted a lot of attention when debuted in the 2018 Smart China Expo (SCE 2018) in Chongqing.

Equipped with a series of intelligent facilities, it is 9.4 meters high with 47,000 storage booths. At the same time, it can save manpower cost to one-third of the original storage. Moreover, it improved the efficiency by 30% and achieved 100% of delivery/receiving accuracy degree.

How does it work?

The operation principle of the automated three-dimensional storage equipment is as follows:

At first, AGV robots will move along the prescribed guiding paths to carry the work bins. Meanwhile, with the function of automatic obstacle avoidance, they can automatically complete the transferring of various goods in the warehouse. Additionally, the efficiency is three times higher than that of manual work.

Second, the AGV robots will go through the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system. The staff can learn the details of every work bin from a distance. The details include the type of the materials, downstream customers, and storage locations of each bin. Therefore, it can ensure the “connectivity” of the goods information. When the robots come near to the robot arms, the arms will receive the instruction and carry out accurate positioning. They will then unpack, stack, and pick goods, with an accuracy rate reaching 100%.

After placing the work bins on the conveyor lines, the robots will complete the conveying task. Stockers will intelligently place and remove the bins and send them to the downstream production plants according to the instruction. Compared with the traditional single-layer warehouses, stackers can effectively improve the utilization of the warehouse space, saving 30% of space.
