A delegation led by the SCO Secretary-General to Chongqing
The 2019 Regional Leaders Meeting of SCO will take place in Chongqing in May this year. Before the major event, the Secretary-General of SCO led a delegation to Chongqing for the preparation of the meeting from Feb. 26-27.
On Feb. 27, Mr. Vladimir Norov met up with the Secretary of Municipal Committee of the CPC-Chen Miner and the Deputy Secretary of Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Mayor of Chongqing Municipality-Tang Liangzhi. During the visit, Mr. Vladimir attended the preparation symposia for the coming Regional Leaders Meeting. The productive visit covered Chongqing’s outstanding enterprises such as Zongshen Industrial Group, Chongqing Sunfeel Industrial Group, and Belarus Culture and Tourism Products Promotion Center.
Chongqing got the experience of holding many international forums
At the question why the Regional Leaders Meeting of SCO chose the forum so take place in Chongqing, Mr. Secretary-General said to iChongqing “Chongqing got the experience of holding many international forums on many issues. I believe this forum will be organized at a high level.”.
He also pointed out that, the potential of SCO is growing by the new members of Pakistan and India. For Chongqing, this opens new opportunities for its business with more countries of SCO.
After the visit, Mr. Secretary-General got a great impression of Chongqing. “There are more than 20 bridges over the two rivers. I've never heard of any city like Chongqing. There is great transportation infrastructure in the city. I see the train go through homes. Impressive.” he describes.
