Recently, with the Chongqing Charity Federation initiative, Chongqing Belt and Road Economic and Technical Cooperation Center (Belt and Road Portal) donated RMB 3 million for the establishment of “Belt and Road” Connectivity Charity Foundation.

It aims to carry out various activities in poverty alleviation, medical assistance, help for the disabled or elder and construction assistance of schools under the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

The foundation will follow principle of people-centered and law-based idead to get deeply involved in charity work.

Boosting charity development in the countries and regions along the route is another goal. Furthermore, the foundation will take an active part in the public welfare activities for governments and enterprises under the Initiative. With two programs under development, it will also contact and organize charity volunteers, striving to improve the capability to support charity in society.
