Chongqing - What can be more exciting to greet Chongqing city with a sight-seeing tour? On the second day after 2019 Looking China Chongqing Youth Film Project kicked off, 10 young directors of different nationalities took a tour around downtown Chongqing, where they will stay for the next two weeks to make Chongqing-related documentaries.

The Three Gorges Museum was the first stop of the day. It turns out to be a brilliant choice as the museum undertakes education, preservation, and scientific research with respect to cultural heritage and natural environment in Chongqing and the world-famous Three Gorges region of the Yangtze River. “You can get a lot of interesting information about the history of Chongqing and history of making Three Gorges Dam.” Professor Francesco Cardinali said to iChongqing while he was watching a big screen displaying documentary about the Three Gorges.

Taking Chongqing Rail Transit itself is a sight-seeing experience that the visitor shall never miss. The unique monorail transportation system sprawling over the mountain city has become famous both home and abroad. No matter it is the unique angle passengers can enjoy from the carriage to appreciate the city, the city roller coaster experiences the rail transit has them feel, or the exciting moment it goes through buildings, Chongqing Rail Transit has impressed the Looking China participants a lot.

“I’m about to take the cableway for the first time. I’m so excited because I can see the city from above.” Barbara from Italy shared her exciting mood with iChongqing before she took the Yangtze River Cableway. The Cableway which runs between Yuzhong District and Nan’an District took the Looking China participants across the Yangtze River. The position on the cableway offers a perfect angle to have an overview of the city – futuristic skyscrapers, rushing Yangtze River, cruise and cargo ships beneath.

A free walk around the Jiefangbei CBD, one of the largest metropolises in the world gave the participants a glimpse of the lifestyle in Chongqing. “The city is 6 times bigger than my home county. It’s so different from where I live, but I like it!” Said Matus from Slovakia.

After the trip, Claudia from Italy told iChongqing touchingly, “Chongqing is so beautiful and green. The contrast between the river, trees and tall buildings is very interesting and so fascinating.”
