“Chongqing possesses over 500 species of butterflies, which are rarely seen in the city. Butterflies are especially sensitive to the ecological environment. They will disappear when the specific species of plant they eat disappear,” said Liu Wenping, a researcher of Chongqing Natural History Museum. According to statistics, over 500 kinds of butterflies in Chongqing live in places with numerous plants and flowers.
