The 2019 China Chongqing Urban Bridge Management Forum & the 2nd Expo of Municipal Maintenance and Environmental Sanitation Equipment in Western China was held in Chongqing International Expo Center on May 8. It is the first forum themed on urban bridge management in China, which has attracted over 300 experts and representatives from enterprises and public institutions at home and abroad.

According to the data, by the end of 2018, the number of bridges both completed and under construction in Chongqing is 14,000. Among them, there are over 2,000 urban bridges and 38 urban cross-river extra-large bridges. In this field, Chongqing has created 17 world top records, where 8 projects are under construction, and 9 completed ones have still kept that honor.

Chaotianmen Bridge was built up in 2009 and with the main span of 552 meters. Because of its world’s longest arch bridge span, the public calls Chaotianmen Bridge the “No.1 longest-span steel arch bridge”. The New Baishatuo Yangtze River Railway Bridge built up in 2018, carrying the two tracks of Chongqing-Guiyang Railway, is a steel-structured truss complex with the largest loads, as well as the first one of its kind with two tracks in the world. Egongyan Track Bridge, still under construction, is a self-anchored suspension bridge with the world’s largest span, and its main span is 600 meters.

Chaotianmen Bridge

Besides, Chongqing Cheng Tou Road and Bridge Administration Co., Ltd. has set up the first postdoctoral workstation in the road and bridge industry nationwide and completed the initial phase of the bridge and tunnel comprehensive platform for intelligent management. In the future, the operation of this platform will make the management on bridges in Chongqing more intelligent.
