Chongqing - As one of the key activities of the 2^nd WCIFIT, the first annual meeting for the Belt and Road overseas Chinese business organization was held in Chongqing on May 16^th. About 200 overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and experts from 30 countries and regions including the United States, Russia, Britain, and New Zealand came to Chongqing. In terms of Chen Ying, the chairman of the Belt and Road Overseas Chinese Business Organization, it reached 8 projects and cooperation during the annual meeting, and more possibilities are coming.

The conference aims to integrate the resources of overseas Chinese affairs, condense the strength of the overseas Chinese community, build a platform for overseas Chinese exchanges along with the Belt and Road countries. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, it also aims for mutual resources sharing and information exchange. There are 5 key activities were held for the annual meeting.

Special lectures 

Experts from the Belt and Road research institute of Tsinghua University explained the latest policies and research results of the Belt and Road Initiative, sharing the updated information with the participants on how to rely on the initiative in the context of economic globalization and deepening reform. It aims to give full play to the advantages of overseas Chinese businessmen and help China to carry out economic and trade cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road.

Overseas Chinese Businessmen`s sharing

Overseas Chinese businessmen from different countries, industries, and fields, combined with their own experiences and practices, focus on the struggle experience, difficulties, and bottlenecks in the process of enterprise development. In addition, they shared their harvest experience and corporate development vision brought by the Belt and Road initiative.

Multi-faceted city promotion

During the annual meeting, the China-Singapore Project Management Bureau introduced the relevant situation of the Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Interconnection Demonstration Project. The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce (FTTA) introduced the relevant situation of the Free Trade Zone. The Intelligent Research Institute released the latest scientific research results so that overseas Chinese businessmen can learn about Chongqing's policies, environment, and technological development level from different aspects.

Trade talks

Participants went counties like Wulong and Hechuan district for their field trip, and they had face-to-face exchanges and discussions with the participating districts and counties to learn more about the latest trends and policy information of investment promotion in districts and counties of Chongqing.
