Chongqing - On May 27, the Opening Ceremony of the Belt and Road International Skills Competition (BRISC) kicked off in Chongqing International Expo Center. The BRISC is Jointly held by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China, National Development and Reform Commission, China International Development Cooperation Agency, and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government.

Under the theme of Skills Cooperation, Joint Development, BRISC has gathered almost 700 participants from 44 countries and regions to compete under 18 items in the following two days.
18 competition items are Electronics, Water Technology, Automobile Technology, Freight Forwarding, Bricklaying, Electrical Installations, Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing and Heating, Information Network Cabling, Fashion Technology, Floristry, Bakery, Beauty Therapy, Cooking, Hairdressing, Health and Social Care, and Restaurant Service. Chinese participants will take part in all 18 items.
Two artificial intelligence robots host the opening ceremony, which attracted the audience.
At the opening ceremony, two artificial intelligence robots appeared as the host, which attracted the audience. These two robots are equipped with the latest legal robot operating system independently developed by a Chongqing company. As a professional legal robot, "It`s not their first time to host a show”, said Chang`an Guangquan, the vice chairman of Baishide Daniu company. These robots have conducted various English training and here it comes remarkable performance.

The participating countries and regions from 6 continents involving Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa, South America, and North America. Countries including Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea, Japan have actively involved in the BRISC. Russia, which is the host country of the 45th World Skills Competition, has sent 50 participants to compete in 17 competitions this time. The BRISC is the skills competition with the most participants from foreign countries and regions so far in China.

The BRISC along with relevant exhibitions is open to the public from 9:30 to 16:00 on May 28 and from 9:00 to 16:00 on May 29. The competition takes place in S1, S3, S4 pavilions in Chongqing International Media Center.
