Chongqing - It is a very exciting experience to observe the world-class technicians’ work at the venue of the Belt and Road Skills Competition during May 28 and 29. The developed expertise, experienced operations and the technicians’ great concentration on work made the competition both intense and attractive. 

In the S4 pavilion of Chongqing Expo Center, Water Technology competition was going on intensely. Participants from Ecuador, Belarus, Russia, Serbia, Syria, and China were fully involved in their work. The competition covered the management, monitoring, and maintenance of the urban or industrial water supply system and sewage treatment system. Zeng Lufeng from China, who ranks 2^nd in Water Technology Sector of the 45^th World Skills Competition, carried out disassembly, assembly, and operation of pump, pipe, and valve in a neat and fast way. The Russian competitor next to him was also closely catching up with the pace. The wonderful competition between the two wowed the audience from time to time. Except for excellent skills, technicians’ patience is the key to success.

The skill competition of Water Technology at BRISC. 

While competitions were busily carried out at the venue, the Freight Forwarding competition area was the quietest place in the pavilion. The competitors were sitting in front of the screen quietly, which looked like nothing intense going on. But actually, they were facing and handling a series of difficult technical problems on the screen. Freight Forwarding requires competitor s to be skillful and handling the freight forwarding business, and complete such competition tasks as customer acquisition, quotation, calculation, transportation management, cost calculation, document operation, complaint and claim handling within the time and under the pressure as prescribed. The participants could walk around to get water and snacks to eat, which restored the actual work.

At the competition area of Automobile Technology, under the signal of Lighting System Fault, a participant only spent 15 minutes to diagnose the fault and fixed it.  Automobile Technology competition involved fault diagnosis, testing, maintenance and care, and repair of the six main systems of the automobile by means of advanced diagnostic tools and specialized maintenance tools and equipment according to the technical specifications of automobile manufacturers. 14 participants from 11 countries took part in the competition. At least 7 of them competed in the 45^th World Skills Competition.

Besides, competition items such as Electronics, Electrical Installations and Information Network Cabling gathered world top technicians in relevant fields together to showcase excellent technician skills and exchange experiences.
