Scan your face to enter or leave the campus: integrating the software with hardware to build a smart campus

Six thousand students and teachers of the Chongqing Railway Secondary School have been using facial recognition technology to go in or out of the campus.

Two years ago, the school wove DingTalk, a smart mobile workplace, into communication, collaboration and daily management, gradually speeding up its digitalization. It created an intelligent access control system and smart dining hall, after introducing facial recognition technology to campus management.

Former IC card access control gates were inconvenient - students without cards had to borrow one from others. Therefore, campus security was threatened by lost cards.

The new DingTalk Smart Facial Recognition Access Control System D2, established in September 2018, is a perfect solution for such issues. Additionally, it allows parents to get notified by the DingTalk when their kids enter or leave the campus.

Students and teachers eating at the dining hall are also benefited from this technology. They can pay by face-scanning based on the DingTalk + Alipay system.

“Order and payment are much quicker than before, achieving greatly improved efficiency in the dining hall.” Principal Ren Quanmin thought the school should incorporate the dining hall in its overall intellectual upgrading program, serving students with convenient dining services.
