Chongqing - "Let us go with our partnership to Western China," said Wulf Gallert, Vice President of Germany Sachsen-Anhalt parliament, at an interview during the Belt and Road Forum for Interconnected Land-Sea Development in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, June 3, 2019.

"I’m from the eastern part of Germany. It’s unfortunate to say eastern Germany is not so developed in high-quality industrial production as the western part," Mr. Wulf Gallert explained and added, "The positive situation is that you are able to make more development."

Germany can find its similar situation in China where the eastern and coastal area is more developed than western and inland China. "The Belt and Road is positive for both parts of our countries, they are today not so developed. We have to make more together in these parts," he continued.

"The railway between Chongqing and Duisburg is able to make the economical working together faster than ships over the ocean." He thinks China Railway Express to Europe is the most important thing for further and faster development of the industrial relations between China and Germany at large.

On another level and in terms of global economic development, Mr. Wulf Gallert also shared his views on the trade war. He said, "The trade war, the United States began with China, but also against the European Union...We have to make a strategic partnership and be able to develop our economy. The economic development is not a result of the political decision in the USA. That's a global think [sic] for the European Union and China."
