Chongqing- On June 11, the press conference for the 2019 Smart China Expo was held in Chongqing outlining the event and some of the key highlights and features of the Smart Expo. The 2019 Smart China Expo will take place from August 26-29 at the International Exhibition Center, and will boast an exhibition area of more than 150.000 m². Visitors will enjoy free entrance and will be able to enjoy technology focused around the central topic of "Smart Technology: Empowering Economy, Enriching Life."

The Smart China Expo (hereafter referred to as SCE 2019), is jointly organized by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, The Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and the China Association for Science and Technology. SCE 2019 will focus on the central topic of Smart Technology and host a series of events, including conferences, exhibitions, contests, and forums.

Heads of the political party and heads of state will be invited to the Opening Ceremony to deliver remarks, and overseas political dignitaries, renowned domestic and foreign entrepreneurs and experts will give speeches in the Big Data and Smart Technology Summit.

The indoor exhibition area will showcase some of the latest products, technologies, in big data and smart industries. One of the most anticipated topics of this years SCE is the application of 5G technology, which will be available to guests during the exhibition. Smart development under the Belt and Road Initiative is also an important topic and will see leading entrepreneurs and experts discuss and provide solutions to the technology application bottleneck demands of big data and smart technology to empower the economy and enrich people's lives.

Attracting greater international participation, the SCE 2019 is committed to international cooperation in today's digital economy. Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Italy will be guests of honor for the SCE 2019, and their special exhibition zones and events will present their progress in their smart industries. Top political figures from these countries will also explore topics like Smart Government Services and Smart City and Smart Life topics.

Some of the confirmed speakers for the SCE 2019 are Kotya Novosely, Nobel Prize winner for Physics, Whitfield Diffie, a Turing awardee and the father of public key encryption, Daniel McNamara, Senior Vice President at Intel Corporation, Jack Ma, Chairman of Alibaba, Robin Li, Chairman of Baidu, Lei Jun, Chairman of Xiaomi, and Wang Xing, founder and CEO of meituan.com. Also, more than 2000 domestic and foreign guests are expected to attend the event.

Of the many companies attending the SCE 2019, we can mention Google, Intel, Mitsubishi Electric, SK Hynix, Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics, Huawei, Lenovo, Alibaba, CASIC, Haier, Tsinghua Unigroup, Inspur, Meituan, Xiaomi among other Fortune 500 companies and China's top 500 companies have confirmed participation.

Some of the highlights of this years SCE 2019 is the use of the 5G network, 5G has been a hot topic worldwide for some time now. The organizing committee is also working on making the Smart China Expo a more professional exhibition with signature events and themed activities. This year, there will be a total of 4 host countries marking a broader inclusion of International companies participating in the event.
