With the increasing efforts in protection and monitoring in recent years, the natural and ecological environment within the heritage site has kept improving and being restored. Local researchers confirmed recently for the first time that there was a habitat of endangered orchids in Jinfoshan Heritage Site. More than 20 varieties of rare wild orchids are growing in the area of 10 square kilometers, including Pleione bulbocodioides, which is put on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

As a result of the investigation for nearly a year, researchers discovered a variety of wild orchids such as Tangtsinia nanchuanica, jade orchids, and golden orchids.
Next, the Research and Monitoring Center of Jinfoshan Conservation Area will set up a sample monitoring spot in this area to keep an eye on the growing environment of this flower for their better survival.
