Atout France (French Tourism Development Agency) and Consulate General of France in Chengdu organized a French tourism promotion event at French Navy Barracks on Nanbin Rd, Chongqing on June 5, 2019. iChongqing interviewed with Boris Viallet, the officer from Atout France, to talk about Chongqing and France`s friendly relationship.

“Chongqing is a very important market for us” Boris Viallet said when asked about bringing a French tourism development agency to Chongqing. “As you know, we do have a direct route from Chongqing to France with Hainan Airline, so it is very important to come to meet the travel agency here and promote French because we want to be everywhere in China, and especially in Chongqing," Mr. Viallet added.

iChongqing also interviewed with Chongyang Yu, the representative of Hainan Airline, about the direct flight operation between Chongqing and France. "It is about a half year for the Chongqing-Paris direct flight launched since Dec. 19, 2018. During the half-year that we operated the direct flight, we've transported about 10,000 passengers between Chongqing and Paris. It could be said that it has reached our expectations, and the direct flight provides a good bridge between Chongqing and Paris. Chongqing is now committed to the construction of an international aviation hub. Regarding this goal, Hainan Airlines is supporting this strategy," Yu said. "In the future, Hainan Airlines plans to open some other international routes to continue to contribute to Chongqing's international aviation market."
