UFI Filters Group, a leading enterprise focusing on filtration and thermal management technology and a filter provider to autos of Mercedes-Benz and BMW, will contribute its share to the auto industry of Chongqing. Its new plant in Yufu Industrial Development Zone, Liangjiang New Area, was set up in this early June. It is the seventh around the world and the sixth in China, as well as the first well-established program in the China-Italy Industrial Park of Liangjiang New Area.

The total investment of UFI Filters in this Chongqing-based plant is over 25 million Euros (about 28 million USD), and it covers a total area of more than 17,000 square meters. Nearly 14,000 square meters will for producing units of hi-tech filter systems, which are tailored for prominent OEM (Origin Entrusted Manufacture) customers.

Giorgio Girondi, President of UFI Filters, said that the Chongqing plant would provide a complete product series, including fuel filters, oil filters, gas filters, liquefied petroleum gas filters for passenger vehicles and heavy vehicles, air filters, air inlet systems, air conditioner filters, urea filters, carbon tank filters, oil-gas separator, and so on. Furthermore, the plant will apply hundreds of patented technologies in manufacture and production, providing services for customers in Southwestern China, including those from Chongqing, Chengdu, Changsha, and Wuhan.

“Global vision and localized execution compose the fundamental principles of the group strategy, and we are striving to provide efficient support to the production of our customers. This newly-operated plant in Chongqing is another strong evidence of our efforts in the long-term investment and expanding in Chinese markets,” Giorgio Girondi said.

According to Liangjiang New Area, this plant will help it to produce world-leading filter series to help various auto manufacturers and improve the industrial quality and the result of energy conservation and emission reduction.
