On June 20, Chongqing Lianglu-Cuntan Free Trade Port Area (CFTA)—The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) National Featured Goods Trade and Culture Week · Singapore Week kicked off at Chongqing International Exhibition & Trading Center (CIETC). Visitors can apply for a free commemorative ticket at the front desk or service center and travel around ‘Singapore in Chongqing’.
CFTA launched the event in March 2019, incorporating an activity called Globe International Train. Departing from BRI States Pavilion, it takes people to enjoy cultures, landscapes and featured goods of countries along the BRI routes. Singapore is the sixth station.
Based on the existing Singapore Pavilion, CFTA carefully selected goods, including the discounted Luzerne ceramic tableware, for visitors during the Singapore Week.
CFTA also set up a particular train station, which integrates Singapore-featured design with the surrounding environment. Popular attractions like Singapore River, Marina Bay Sands, Merlion statue, and Sands SkyPark will surprise visitors, visually bringing them ‘inside’ the modern country.
