On June 24, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economic and Information Technology released that the 2nd International Drone Racing Grand Prix (IDRGP), one of the representative events of the Smart China Expo (SCE), will take place during the SCE 2019 (August 26 to 29, 2019).
The 2019 IDRGP will hold preliminaries in Guizhou and conduct the finals at the Chongqing International Expo Center. It will expand the invitation scope to include the contestants from about 12 countries and regions involving China, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Japan, the US, Austria, UK, Australia, Belgium, South Korea, and Thailand, as well as other places.

Moreover, this year’s tracks will embrace a more sci-tech designing, adding more three-dimensional elements and stereoscopic structures based on last year’s post-modern style of the LED lighting tracks. Combined with Chongqing’s characteristic features to carry out innovative construction, it highlights the themes of Intelligence and Racing; and reflects the integration of culture and technology. While bringing vicarious thrills, it also emphasizes the contestants’ ability to control the drone and determine the route.
In addition to professional competitions, there will be Drone Innovation Carnival experience activities on site. In the mind-controlled drone experience session, the audience can control the launch and landing of the drone with their mind and manipulate it to move forward or backward through motion control. Meanwhile, they can also learn about the cutting-edge BMI brain-computer interface technology, the basic principles, application knowledge, and basic operations of drone, and enjoy the fun of flying.
