Chongqing- The 14th Annual Meeting of the Chongqing Mayor's International Economic Advisory Council, or CMIA, will be held in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality from September 27 to 28, 2019, according to Song Gang, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of CMIA and Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce on September 24, 2019. The theme of the meeting is Building an Inland International Logistics Hub: Global Experiences and Chongqing's Way.
Altogether 32 CEOs from Fortune Global 500 and world-renowned multinationals from overseas will gather in the Chongqing International Expo Center to share their ideas and help promote the construction of Chongqing into an international logistics hub in inland China.
With rapid economic and social development, more and more global companies are paying attention to Chongqing and participating in its development. According to the annual meeting secretariat, as of now, 24 consultants from France ENGIE Group, Sumitomo of Japan, and BASF of Germany and etc. will attend the annual business event. Eight consultants such as Otis, Qualcomm and Siemens will have their representatives or observers here.
During the meeting, the Chongqing Mayor and advisers will exchange views and discuss with each other on three aspects, namely, Expand Logistics Channels, Build the Transportation Hub and Upgrade Port Service. Opinions and suggestions will be given on how Chongqing to establish standardized multi-modal transport system, a smart information-sharing platform for the public, facilitated customs clearance supervision model, international logistics hub and comprehensive service environment.
A successful CIMA annual meeting will definitely promote the exchange and cooperation between Chongqing and the international business community and help to build an international logistics hub in inland China.
Chongqing is now accelerating its efforts to build the inland international logistics and trade hub and the pioneer of opening-up in inland China by leveraging its favorable geographical locations and opening wider to the world. Chongqing will continue to be a leader and driver for the regional development by achieving new outcomes and making new breakthroughs. To this end, Chongqing is upgrading its logistics system with the aim to radiating inland region, connecting the world and promoting the production factors cluster. The building of the transportation channels and the open economy will energize the development in the whole region.
