The 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts, China 2019 launched on September 25 at the Chongqing Contemporary Fine Art Museum. It is the first time in 70 years for such a large and influential fine arts gathering of the highest level in Chongqing. Two hundred seventy-nine sculpture works from all over China are on exhibition.

The 279 works, including 23 prominent ones selected for Beijing exhibition and eight award nominees, were strictly selected from 2,945 entries. Chongqing has made brilliant achievements in the show. Twenty-three works from Chongqing were exhibited, including seven works entering the Beijing exhibition and three award nominees.
Sculpture for the the People's Republic of China
The three award nominees include the Flame of Youth, Sculpture for PRC and Good News. They respectively present the moment when a firefighter returns to the fire ground, the scene where artists discuss design plans for the relief of the Monument to the People’s Heroes and the vivid slices of public life.

The other award nominees are also absorbing. The Beautiful Scenery Line shows the sanitation worker of simplicity and diligence. A Midsummer Night’s Dream presents a sweet scene where people take a rest on a summer night. Eight Women Fighters represents the image of anti-Japanese heroes. Sailing Art Boat creates a group of historical figures, and Chord allows people to experience the infinite possibilities of sculpture.
Citizens will be able to visit the Museum for free after the opening ceremony on September 25. The exhibition will last until October 25.
