To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Nanshan Botanical Garden uses tens of thousands of flowers to create a festive atmosphere. A 36-square-meter national flag made of red flowers is the most attractive spot. During the National Day, the Garden is expected to hold colorful activities to popularize scientific knowledge and extend its opening hours to 21:00.

Event 1

Nanshan Botanical Garden will hold Beautiful Chongqing Light Artworks Exhibition at night during the National Day. Seventeen districts and counties of the city aim to display their histories, cultures, products and tourism features through these exhibits, and the Nanshan Botanical Garden will create a fantasy world by combining these light artworks with the surrounding environment.

Parts of the Central Garden and the Exhibition Greenhouse will close at 21:00. It is worth noting that the opening hours might be extended based on the actual situation. Ticket prices at night are the same as that by day.

Event 2

Nanshan Botanical Garden will organize “Praise Motherland with Poetry” Poetry Reading during the National Day. Parents can teach children the ideas of loving country, home, and nature.

Event 3

Nature School of Nanshan Botanical Garden sits in the Orchid Garden and is going to be open to the public during the National Day. The School will invite 30 families to learn how to draw orchids and listen to stories about the flower.

Event 4

National Flower and National Tree are symbols of a country. Exhibition Greenhouse of Nanshan Botanical Garden collects National Flowers and National Trees of dozens of countries. People can visit the place to open their minds.

Event 5

Pruned leaves, flowers, branches, and roots of plants are waste in daily life. However, they can become hand-made artworks.

Nanshan Botanical Garden will hold “Turning Waste into Wealth” Environmental Protection Activity, teaching visitors how to make plant artworks via exhibition and lessons.

Event 6

“I’m with Motherland, I Sing for Motherland.” Nanshan Botanical Garden sets up Photo Corner and Singing Area for visitors.

Event 7

“Chongqing Rare and Protected Plants Exhibition” will be held at Nanshan Botanical Garden. Visitors can understand 60-80 kinds of plants under protection of Chongqing through display boards and real plants.

“National Beauties” Creative Cultural Products Exhibition will exhibit 8 kinds of plant-related original creative cultural products, including round fans, paintings, and accessories.
