Chongqing — From September 21 to October 10, a light show “celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China" will be held in Chongqing, with thousands of bright lights lighting up the night sky in Chongqing.

Through pictures that composed of colorful light, the light show bestowed brilliant blessings for the birthday of China, the development and changes of Chongqing and expressed feelings of love for the motherland.

The highlights of the light show

Chongqing is famous for its landscape and night scenery. If you want to know the most beautiful night scene in Chongqing, it is, of course, the colorful "two-rivers night view."

The light show takes high-rise buildings as the "canvas," light and shadow technology as the "paintbrush." In recent days, Yuzhong district, Jiangbei district, and Nan’an district have interacted with each other and staged a light show on the banks of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River.

At 7 PM on September 27, Jiangbeizui central business district was especially shining as the light of many tall buildings turned on. The river was illuminated with colorful lights. The Jiangbei district compiled a special light show to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. Through the magnificent lights and shadows, Jiangbei district tells the glorious history of China and expresses the blessings of Chongqing people to the motherland.

In Yuzhong district, the light of Raffles City becomes a highlight. Seen from a distance, Raffle City shines in the night, and the gorgeous lights on the high-rise buildings reflect on the surface of the rolling river, forming an intoxicating atmosphere, a bright new star in the night scene of Chongqing.

In Nan’an district, the management committee of Nanbin road combines the twin towers (one is the Sheraton Chongqing Hotel, and the other is Chongqing International Financial Center) to form a new landmark with a focus on technology. In addition, Nanbin road will also utilize the light source of the facade of Sheraton hotel and other buildings, display "warmly celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China", "Chongqing: Journey to New Accomplishments" and other subtitles, creating a festive atmosphere.

The river-crossing bridge also became a light show stage.

Since this year, Chongqing has further improved the lighting effect of Chaotianmen bridge, Qiansimen bridge and Dongshuimen bridge, and partially rectified the landscape lighting facilities. At present, the overall replacement project of LED clearance light of Chaotianmen bridge has been completed. The new landscape lighting gives a more precise outline of the Chaotianmen bridge, making it even more majestic at night.

Besides, during National Day holidays, from 7 PM to 10 PM every night, "the first air corridor of the Yangtze River" -- the Yangtze River cableway scenic spot will stage a light show. The Chinese characters of "I love you China" and other blessings were played upper the surface of the river with an order.  Seen from afar, gorgeous light, slowly flowing river water like a beautiful landscape painting.

Visitors thumb up: it's spectacular!

"It’s a spectacular light show!" Miss Xu, a traveler from Chengdu, couldn't help taking a bunch of photos on her mobile phone and posting them to her friends. "The light show has ignited my patriotic feeling. I am proud of my motherland and wish her best and be more prosperous."

Mr. Zhang, a Chinese-American, said it was an unforgettable experience to see the unique night view of the mountain city. "I travel a lot and have been to many cities in China, but such a beautiful night scene like Chongqing is rare, especially this themed light show, which makes Chongqing’s night scene even more unique."
The light show will undoubtedly further enhance Chongqing’s city image and appeal.

Liao Wei, general manager of China Travel Service (Group) Co. LTD, Chongqing, said that "the mountains and rivers in the city" are the core tourism characteristics of Chongqing. Lighting is the poetic expression of the city. This light show will undoubtedly become a carnival for visitors who come in Chongqing during the National Day holidays.
