According to rough statistics, Chongqing received 38.59 million (foreign and domestic) tourists during the National Day holiday, an annual growth of 10.6% from the previous year. According to statistics, the tourists visited Chongqing Hongyan Revolution History Museum, outlying villages, the three gorges, enjoyed local night scenes, tasted hot pot, and bathed in CQ's famous hot springs. These activities introduced RMB 18.762 billion to the city, up 32.8% from last year.
Qin Dingbo, Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, said, “We assigned working teams to the most popular areas. The urban tour was surprisingly welcomed this year and contributed most to the total of 38.59 million tourists.”

Hongya Cave, Guanyinqiao Business Circle, and Landmark Riverside Danzishi Old Street received 889 thousand, 502 thousand, and 401 thousand tourists, an annual growth of 11.5%, 13.11%, and 6.66% respectively.
In terms of the total tourism during the National Day holiday, Chongqing witnessed steady growth in the number of tourists visiting premium scenic areas. Jinyun Mountain-North Hot Spring Resort welcomed over 300,000 tourists, and the average occupancy rate of hotels reached 98%. Wulong Karst Tourist Area and Chongqing Locajoy Theme Park received 405.6 thousand and 116.9 thousand tourists, realizing RMB 33.226 million and RMB 26.443 million of tourism revenue, respectively.

Developing “beautiful villages” construction in Chongqing has led to booming rural tourism. Selective B&Bs in Beibei District achieved nearly 100% occupancy rates. The Jindao Canyon Scenic Area received 37,000 tourists, increasing over 100% compared with last year. The number of tourists visiting Yunzhuan Mountain of Banan District reached 119.9 thousand, an annual growth of 10.4%. Nanchuan Ecological Garden welcomed 151 thousand visitors, up 11.85% from last year.
Additionally, 20 national and municipal-level revolutionary tourism scenic spots received a total of 856.3 thousand visitors.
Chongqing intensified its efforts to integrate culture with tourism. It launched a series of excellent performances and exhibitions welcomed by tourists, stimulating consumption.
During the National Day holiday, the city held 29 exhibitions. Chongqing Natural History Museum organized panda’s costume ball, 3D globe making, 3D paper dinosaur sculptures, and other activities. Beibei District Art Museum hosted Sing for Motherland—Calligraphy and Painting Artworks Exhibition to Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China. Chongqing Industrial Museum launched Daya Market series events, attracting a wave of visitors.
Troupes and theaters in Chongqing staged 35 performances, including the Magic City and Extreme Happiness Show, with attendance rate close to sold out (reaching higher than 90%).
More than 500 municipal-level inheritors of intangible cultural heritage participated in 390 performances and promotion events, serving 2.3 million people.
