On October 17, International Mediation Summit 2019 opened in Chongqing. Over 500 guests from more than ten countries and regions attended the summit, including representatives from courts, judicial departments, trade, and investment promotion agencies, the mediation field, the arbitration field, the legal profession, and enterprises. Discussions during the summit were conducted on such topics as how to innovate business dispute resolution channels and build a business mediation system.
International business mediation is conducted for international or foreign affairs in business disputes among natural persons, legal persons, or other organizations. It is the most amicable dispute resolution that saves both time and money.
During the opening ceremony of the summit, a signing ceremony was held. Memoranda of cooperation were signed between the Mediation Centre of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chongqing Committee and the Malaysian Mediation Centre as well as between China Chamber of International Commerce Chongqing Chamber of Commerce and Hean Zhuowai Enterprise Management and Consulting Co., Ltd. of the Netherlands.
The International Mediation Summit, initiated and sponsored by CCPIT in 2016, aims to promote the exchange and cooperation in mediation systems and mediation experience of every country and to analyze the development trend of mediation. After being held in Beijing, Hangzhou, and Changsha, it has emerged as a high-end branded summit with extensive international influence in this industry. This summit provides Chongqing’s business mediation talent teams with an opportunity to receive high-end training and share global ideas and experience of business mediation.
Meanwhile, CCPIT On-Line Mediation Website and the Malaysia-China Business Mediation Centre were launched.
