The second round of 2019 Chongqing “Talents Cup” Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creativity Project Contest (Europe Division) was held at the Oxford and Cambridge Club on October 25, 2019.

It aims to show the environment of talent attraction in Chongqing and woo excellent professionals and projects. The Contest selected projects from the Science and Technology Projects Database of Fengyi International and across Europe. After the 2-month-long initial round, 20 out of over 80 projects entered the second round in Europe Division. Some of them are from Cambridge University, Oxford University, Imperial College, King’s College, and other top-notch universities in European countries such as Britain, Germany, France, and Switzerland. It’s worth noting that all members of these start-up groups have doctorates. The 20 projects involve AI, biomedicine, environmental protection technologies, 3D printing, big data, new energy, new materials, and electronic information. Competitors presented their projects to the judges and attending guests during the contest.
The Contest consisted of a 7-minute roadshow and 5-minute interaction with judges from fields like technologies and venture capital and related companies, who commented on and scored industries, development potential, group structure, and long-term plan.

Competitors fully demonstrated their strengths. Meanwhile, they were interested in Chongqing’s location, environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, and talent attraction policies. Therefore, during the break, these people came to delegates and investment institutions from the city to understand industrial development and supporting policies, while introducing their plans on project growth in detail. Competitors also said they were impressed by the latest urban development, talent attraction policies, and recruitment information of Chongqing from the Opening Ceremony and the Contest. They would like to realize their dreams there in the future. After fierce competition, five projects stood out in the second round of Europe Division for the final of the 2019 Chongqing “Talents Cup.”
Mr. Wang Yongli, Minister Counsellor of Education Sector – Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Andrew Balacla, Deputy Mayor of Peak District, and President of Cambridge University China Entrepreneur Club were invited to deliver speeches at the Opening Ceremony. Minister Counsellor Wang Yongli praised the economic development and cultural environment of Chongqing realized over the past few years and encouraged attendees to grasp the right opportunities brought by the Chongqing delegation.
