On October 31, according to Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission, 10,164 new registered enterprises (including branches) settled in China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (CFTZ) in the first three quarters this year, accounting for 10.4% of the city’s total.

In the first three quarters this year, the total registered capital of new enterprises in CFTZ exceeded RMB 170 billion, accounting for 31.1% of the city’s total. Among them, 122 foreign-funded enterprises are 19.1% of the city’s total, with the registered capital of USD 282 million, 8.8% of the city’s total registered capital. CFTZ has introduced 708 projects, with the signed contracts involving nearly RMB 153 billion.

Jiefangbei CBD is the only commercial area to be included in China (Chongqing) pilot free trade zone.

This year, the economic performance of CFTZ has remained stable, and the concentration degree of critical industries such as trade and logistics, big data, cultural tourism, and health has increased. Specifically:

First, trade and logistics enterprises account for nearly half of all the enterprises settled in CFTZ. 4,909 trade and logistics enterprises and transportation enterprises were registered in CFTZ, accounting for 48.3% of the area’s total, including such key trade and logistics projects as a railway dedicated line and bulk cargo terminal of Guoyuan Port, China-Singapore (Chongqing) airport commercial management project, Chongqing Suning Intelligent Industrial Park, the Belt and Road (Chongqing) Intelligent Experience Center and JD super experience store.

Second, the digital economy has boosted industrial upgrading significantly. Three thousand twenty enterprises (including branches) involving sectors of manufacturing, information transmission, software and information technology services, scientific research, and technology services were added, accounting for 29.7% of the area’s total, up 1.6 percentage points from the first half of the year. A large number of advanced projects involving manufacturing, Internet, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, such as Bosch Industrial Data Center, Altus High-End Semiconductor Packaging Support Plate Technology Upgrading Project and Inventec High-end Electronic Intelligence Terminal Production Base, have been implemented in CFTZ, effectively promoting Chongqing’s industrial upgrading and transformation.

Third, the integration of cultural tourism and the health industry was accelerated. One thousand three hundred fifty-six registered enterprises (including branches) involving sectors of tourism service, health, and social work, culture, sports, and entertainment account for 13.3% of the area’s total. Several cultural tourism and health projects, such as Tourism Cloud Intelligent Platform of Chongqing Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd., Water World of Evergrande Tourism Group, and Jiaxing Xinyue Film and Television Institute have accelerated integration to further improve the sense of gain and happiness of the citizens.
