Dazu Rock Carvings Cultural and Creative Park is an important part of the international cultural tourism city program.
Dazu Rock Carvings has a history of over 1,000 years. It has been a dream of Dazu people to develop cultural and creative industries in connection with the Carvings. In early 2019, Dazu District decided to launch the Dazu Rock Carvings Cultural and Creative Park Project in Sanqu Town, to carry forward the carvings culture, inherit the stone carving craftsmanship and revitalize the stone carving industry.
The Cultural and Creative Park features “Industry + Culture + Tourism.” The project phase I, covering an area of 2km2, consists of a cultural and creative tourism zone and a processing transaction zone. It is dedicated to building the largest carving industrial park in west China and a cultural and artistic tourism destination. Currently, a total of 12 projects, involving over RMB 6bn, have officially settled in the park. Most are engaged in carving, cultural and creative tourism, stone materials, e-commerce, etc. More than 20 provincial-level and above arts and crafts masters, architects’ offices, and cultural & creative companies have been introduced here. The park has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Sichuan Fine Arts Institute on projects, including the Institute for Carving Industries, SFAI, and SFAI carving center.
While making efforts on investment attraction, the Cultural and Creative Park will ensure the construction commencement of the projects signed, such as large stone carving processing enterprises, cultural and creative enterprises, Chongqing intangible cultural heritage town, artists’ offices, sculpture works markets, art training bases, and e-commerce platforms.
