2019 Yuelai International Communication Forum to Strengthen International Communication

On November 7, the 2019 Yuelai International Communication Forum kicked off at Chongqing Daily News Group. It was organized by the News Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing, and Chongqing Daily News Group. It is hosted by Chongqing International Communication Center and Chongqing Cultural and Tourism International Communication Center.

According to the organizers of the forum, the forum will build a platform for international communication by integrating theoretical presentation, case sharing, and resource exchanges. Meanwhile, the forum will promote international communication and develop international communication cooperation. Therefore, it will serve Chongqing to fully integrate the One Belt One Road to accelerate to establish the city as an open inland highland.

New York Times, Bloomberg L.P., Wall Street Journal, BBC, The Central Times, South China Morning Post, TripAdvisor, National Geographic, CNN, and other major foreign media organizations in China participated in the forum. They shared the features, planning, activity resources, and successful international communication cases of their respective media platforms on the forum.

Li Jia, head of the Wall Street Journal's business office in China, said, "The Wall Street Journal, as the world's leading financial media brand, has always been concerned about China's development. I am very happy to participate in this forum, and I look forward to developing more cooperation with Chongqing in the future."

Hu Zhengrong, the expert in international communication research and Editor-in-Chief of China Education Television, presented the latest concepts and trends of international communication at the forum. He said, "How to show the world a true, three-dimensional, and comprehensive China has always been a topic of discussion in the field of international communication. The holding of the Yuelai International Communication Forum has built a good platform for Chongqing and overseas mainstream media. Additionally, Chongqing's external promotion is very good and very real."

The leader of the Chongqing International Communication Center said: "As the official overseas communication platform of Chongqing, this forum is held to strengthen Chongqing's international communication. Moreover, we will introduce Chongqing, display Chongqing, and promote Chongqing through international communication and cooperation with international mainstream media. In this way, it will contribute to trade, tourism, culture, technology exchange, and development with international communication cooperation."

Besides, the 2.0 version of the official website of Chongqing International Communication Center – iChongqing also officially launched at the occasion. In addition, the center has signed a cooperation agreement with a group of mainstream international media on international communication cooperation at the forum.
