What’s the solution for a city to gather more talent? And what kind of development is more sustainable and of a preferred quality? On November 9, as a sub-forum of Chongqing Talents Conference, Academician Symposium invites more than 20 academics to give their suggestions for the development of Chongqing.
“One of the purposes is to promote interaction among government departments, scientific research institutions, enterprises with the wisdom of academicians and experts, and to discuss new ideas on scientific and technological innovation and urban development," the organizer of the symposium said.
The symposium invites more than 20 academicians and experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as foreign academicians. All of the experts are very concerned about and familiar with the development of Chongqing since most of them used to study or work in Chongqing, and they have deep feelings about Chongqing.
During the symposium, they set out from their respective research fields and put forward their insights, which were of considerable significance to government decision-making and enterprises' development ideas. “Chongqing needs to train cutting-edge talents in basic research to meet the needs of scientific development," said Yuan Daoxian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The symposium was presided over by Pan Fusheng, the President of Chongqing association for science and technology. Wu Cunrong, the Vice-mayor of Chongqing, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. At the same time, the representatives of Chongqing talents and outstanding scientists, as well as the municipal relevant departments and the leaders also participated in the discussion and had close exchanges with the experts.
