From Jan. to Oct. this year, Guoyuan Port has realized the total container throughput of 84,000 TEUs on waterway-to-waterway transfer.

According to the Port and Shipping Management Department of Chongqing Port Logistics Group Co., Ltd., to make better use of the shipping center by the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and improve the service quality of this basin, and compensate for the disadvantage that the shipping line from Chongqing to Luzhou and Yibin lacks enough containers all the year-round and the high cost of individual container, the group has deepened the strategic cooperation with ports at the upper reaches of Yangtze River and shipping firms by its branches and opened “Chongqing-Yibin” container waterway-to-waterway transfer line in 2016.

The line adopts such measures as a discounted storage charge on the port, preferential loading, specified storage yards, etc. to gather containers of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River to transfer here. In this March, the Group had succeeded in expanding the public branch to the Yunnan Shuifu region, thus expanding the influences on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
