Chongqing- On November 13, the Awarding Ceremony of the Co-Construction Base of “China Science Communication” was staged in Lijia Intelligent Park in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, which means that Lijia Intelligent Park has officially become the Co-Construction Base of “China Science Communication” of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).

The relevant person in charge of the Chongqing Association for Science and Technology introduced that the Phase I project of Lijia Intelligent Park opened during the 2nd Smart China Expo. It became the experience and exhibition area of science popularization, providing visitors with an immersive experience of the future intelligent life. Being widely recognized and welcomed by the public, it receives more than 10,000 visitors every day.

To give full play to the park’s role of science popularization, Chongqing Association for Science and Technology applied to CAST for a new name of the park called the Co-Construction Base of “China Science Communication,” which was approved in this September.

“The digital, intelligent, and people-oriented Lijia Intelligent Park is extremely popular with Chongqing citizens. I believe there will be a good demonstration effect of science popularization to make more people get close to science and love it.” The relevant person in charge of the Department of Science Popularization, CAST, introduced that the Co-Construction Base Project of “China Science Communication” is organized by CAST. It aims to extensively mobilize social forces to participate in science popularization activities and enrich high-quality content and resources of science popularization in China, with emphasis on joint construction in such specialized fields as artificial intelligence, quantum information, mobile communication, synthetic biology, and robotics.

The person in charge added that CAST would work with Chongqing Association for Science and Technology and Liangjiang New Area to build a team of science communication experts, create high-quality science popularization resources and carry out science popularization activities so that the “technological content” of Lijia Intelligent Park will benefit more Chongqing citizens.
