As the core R&D base of Changan’s global power technology and products, Changan UK R&D Centre, since its establishment in 2010, has invested RMB 1.5 billion in building the world-leading R&D center of power assembly. Once the Test Centre is put into service, Changan Automobile will continue to depend on the sound and in-depth cooperation with the political, academic, and commercial fields of the UK and integrate the Centre’s power assembly, engine, drive integration, power control, operation, and project management departments. Then, it will test and develop the core capabilities in the fields of concept design, engineering development, locomotive integration, simulated analysis, experiment, and trial-manufacture, etc., thus ensuring the leading position of Changan Automobile in products and technology.

On that day, Changan debuted the Blue Core NE 1.5T engine. As the latest product of the Bluecore NE Powertrain Platform, this engine is equipped with the ultra-low emission technology. It can produce a maximum power of 130 kW and a peak torque of 300 N/m, making it outperform its opponents in the same class. The key to its outstanding power performance is that the Blue Core NE1.5T engine has integrated the AGILE combustion system, Schaeffler KG smart camshaft adjuster, “dual-outlet exhaust manifold + twin-scroll electric compressor turbo,” and other cutting-edge technologies. This version of the 1.5T engine has refreshed the global engine manufacturing industry’s understanding of Changan Blue Core NE Powertrain and China’s automobile R&D abilities and technical merits.
