At 22:15 on November 14, aircraft A320NEO of Chongqing Airlines landed at Macao International Airport, marking the official opening of the direct flight from Chongqing to Macao.

“I bought the bargain ticket with RMB 400 a week ago,” said Mr. Tan, who took the first flight on the evening of November 14. More than a decade ago, he had to fly to Zhuhai and transferred to Macao. Upon the news of the opening of Chongqing-Macao flight, he snatched tickets online in advance and took his family on a trip to Macao.

Mr. Zhang, a Macanese, and his wife also took the flight. He met his wife when traveling in Chongqing and settled down here later. The couple both work in Chongqing, and Mr. Zhang often travels between the two cities to see his parents in Macao. “This flight makes the round trip much easier,” said Mr. Zhang.

This is the first flight from Chongqing to Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan opened by Chongqing Airlines. The departing flight number is OQ2015/ CZ575, departing at 20:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, and landing in Macao International Airport at 22:30. The return flight number is OQ2016/CZ576, departing at 23:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from Macao International Airport and landing in Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 01:40 (the next day). The whole flight takes about two and a half hours.
