On September 11, the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Dedicated Channel on International Internet Data was officially opened in Singapore, which aroused great attention from all sectors of society. This week, a crucial forum will be staged in Chongqing to discuss how to build and use this channel well.

On September 11, China-Singapore (Chongqing) Dedicated Channel on International Internet Data was opened in Singapore.

The forum will kick off on November 21, when it is expected to gather more than 300 attendees, including relevant leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority, experts in related industries, and persons in charge of leading Internet enterprises such as Alibaba Group, Tencent and Singtel of the two countries. They will offer advice and suggestions for the application promotion and policy innovation of the channel.

At the forum, leaders of relevant departments will award licenses to the first batch of seven parks with access to the channel and hold signing ceremonies for the channel renting of application enterprises and the cooperative projects of China-Singapore enterprises. The main forum will see keynote speeches from experts of China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom and China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

Among the three sub-forums to be staged in the afternoon, the Sub-Forum on Application Promotion will be based on the channel, focus on the discussion about the typical application scenarios, the improvement of international connectivity among related parks, and enterprises, and the promotion of innovative applications and industrial development. On the Sub-Forum on Policy Innovation, attendees will discuss how will China and Singapore establish a cross-border data flow mechanism and ensure the security of personal and essential information in the process of promoting the application and development of the channel. The Sub-Forum on China-Singapore Dual Hubs will introduce advantages of the channel such as technologies and prices and discuss how to promote economic exchanges between China’s central and western regions and Southeast Asia by virtue of the channel.

Sponsored by Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and undertaken by Chongqing Big Data Application and Development Administration, China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) Administrative Bureau, Chongqing Communication Administration and Chongqing Yubei People’s Government, the main forum will kick off in Chongqing Xiantao Big Data and Internet of Things Vocational Training College in Yubei District in the morning while the sub-forums will be held in Jinling Grand Hotel in the afternoon.
