The 6th China Hot Spring Tourism Festival & the 4th Golden Hot Spring Award closed on November 19 in Qidong City, Jiangsu Province. Chongqing Beibei District was awarded the Top 10 Hot Spring Destinations.

The 4th Golden Hot Spring Award was launched on December 6 last year. As of the entry deadline March 31, 2019, the organizing committee received a total of 452 applications from enterprises and individuals in the hot spring sector. The winners of each award were selected through a process from registration, finalist selection, preliminary review, WeChat interaction to a review by Golden Hot Spring experience officers.

Founded in 2013, the Golden Hot Spring Award is held based on the principle of Health and Quality every other year. It is dedicated to finding natural and quality hot springs worldwide and reward regions, enterprises, and individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the hot spring sector. It is the highest and most authoritative award in the industry.

The appraisal indicators for the Top 10 Hot Spring Destinations of the Golden Hot Spring Award include: ambient air quality index at 10-100 for more than 200 days throughout the year; excellent natural and cultural resources; multiple characteristic hot springs covering high, middle and low consumption groups; mature hot spring tourist routes and service providers; hot spring water conformable to the naming criteria for medical thermo-mineral water or of significant healthcare value that allows the applicant to be certified as a “hot spring, quality hot spring, or quality and rare hot spring”. Beibei District won the prize for the conformity to all of these indicators.

In recent years, Beibei District has exerted efforts to build a featured, exquisite and cultural hot spring tourism industry and boost holiday resorts, so as to develop the All-for-One Tourism. Beibei District will continue to carry out its Hot Spring Valley Project and exploit its hot spring resources to achieve world-class hot spring tourism and health resort.
