On November 21st, the 12th National Support to the Three Gorges Reservoir Area Economic and Trade Fair was held in Wanzhou District, Chongqing, for two days. Over the past 20 years, national support for the Three Gorges Chongqing reservoir area has reached more than 181.5 billion yuan and 1,768 cooperation projects. Among them, the funds for economic construction projects exceeded 177 billion yuan, and the funds for free assistance were nearly 4.5 billion yuan.

According to reports, with the provincial and municipal support, the national support for the Three Gorges reservoir area cooperation plan has been comprehensively promoted, and most of the measures in the program have been implemented. About 85% of the 2,257 tasks that have been implemented in recent years and achieved excellent results. The average annual economic growth rate of the Three Gorges reservoir area has been higher than the national average, which is the fastest period of economic development since the reform and opening up. In 2018, the total production value of the Three Gorges reservoir area was 809.5 billion yuan, an increase of 45% over 2014; the per capita GDP exceeded 26983 yuan, with a rise of 46% over 2014.

On the afternoon of the 21st, the 12th “Leading Association” Yangtze River Economic Belt Green Development Seminar was held in Wanzhou. Experts and scholars gathered to discuss how to promote the green development of the Three Gorges reservoir area. The experts shared theories and cases from the perspectives of top-level policy design, business environment creation, international practical experience, and grassroots successful exploration.

In addition, during the forum, there will be a symposium to support the Three Gorges Reservoir Area Cooperation Work, signing activities for investment promotion projects, national support for the Three Gorges Reservoir Area Achievement Exhibition and cultural tourism promotion activities.
