This year, Wushan has promoted six boutique sightseeing routes with convenient transportation and complete facilities, which will pass across the Little Three Gorges, Goddess Peak, Goddess Stream, and other scenic areas. Route II: Wenfeng Scenic Area, 4A (half day)

Route III: Mist-enveloped Peak of Three Gorges • Sky Road of Goddess Peak Scenic Area

Sightseeing method 1: Land-route travel of the Sky Road of the Goddess Peak (half day)

Best scenic spots for red leaves: Two banks of the Wuxia Gorge and the 12 peaks of Wushan Mountain

Route IV: Jianping Village · Hongye Ridge of Feifeng Peak

Tourists are well-advised to take a bus to go uphill along the mountain-surrounded road to catch a panoramic view of the red leaves; take a boat to enjoy the two banks of the Three Gorges dyed in red; walk along a forest trail or ancient transportation route to abandon to the wildly-beautiful nature.

Route V: Guandu Town · Hongye Hill in Ziyangtai Scenic Spot

Highlights: It is one of the scenic areas with the earliest red leaves of Wushan Mountain. Along over ten kilometers, the red leaves have magically dyed the mountains and fields into a red sea, and the impressive beauty always makes visitors linger on without any thought of leaving. Another recommended spot is Jiugedong Ancient Guandu People Site, dating back to 90,000 years ago.

Route VI: Shuanglong Town · Hongye Bay in Anjing Village (Yunding · Yutouwan Red Leaf Scenic Spot)

Highlights: This self-driving route will offer an overlooking view of the most charming scenery in the area of the Little Three Gorges. In late autumn and at the two banks of Yunding and Yutouwan scenic areas, the forests are crimsoned by the serried woods, and the Yutou Bay of Bawu Gorge seems to rest on the water leisurely, unfolding a beautiful scenery picture. Yunding scenic area: the name is inspired by “there’s always cloud and mist over the head.” The Steep Red Cliff is located on the opposite shore of the Yunding Sightseeing Platform. Yutouwan scenic area: It got the name Yutou (literally fish head) for the vivid appearance as a lively swimming chub in water.
