Chongqing- Co-sponsored by Chongqing Administration of Sport, the People’s Government of Changshou District, and the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing, the Chongqing Changshou Canoeing Invitational Tournament to Celebrate 70 Years of China-Hungary Ties was held in Changshou Lake Scenic Spot on November 30. Canoeists from Hungary, Chongqing, and other Chinese cities presented an incredible water race.

Since the establishment of Chinese-Hungarian diplomatic relations in 1949, the two countries have developed the relationships in an all-round way and strengthened cooperation in various fields; thus, the friendship between their people is deepening. The 70th anniversary of the establishment of Chinese-Hungarian diplomatic relations is of historical value and practical significance. Therefore, the invitational tournament was held to celebrate this particular year and further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

A total of 120 contestants from 3 countries and ten regions, including some foreigners invited by the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing, participated in the competition and witnessed the profound friendship between the people of China and Hungary.

This competition not only strengthened the close Chinese-Hungarian cooperation on the “Belt and Road,” but also advanced the cultural tourism in the Changshou District. Changshou District is located in the Ecological Economic Zone of Chongqing Three Gorges Reservoir Region, in the center of Chongqing. It is the overland transportation hub of the city, an important port in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and a vital relay station for the economic and social resources of Chongqing radiating the Three Gorges Reservoir Region.
