Interview with Pakistan Ambassador: Chongqing is A Critical City to BRI

"Chongqing is a very critical city of development of The Belt & Road Initiative (BRI). It is also the center, the major link of modern transportation," said Ms. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, Deputy Director of Pakistan Embassy in China, when she talked about the impression of Chongqing. The 3rd Conference of the CICA Non-Governmental Forum is held in Chongqing from Dec. 18 - 20. During this forum, Ms. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch accepted an interview with iChongqing.

Pakistan joined the BRI in 2013, "for only short six years, there are different pillars have been developed such as infrastructure, energy, and industrial cooperation," said Ms. Mumtaz. She also encourages Chinese companies to join the ventures in Pakistan and take advantage of Pakistan's pleasant trade environment as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has operated successfully.
In terms of her interview, Pakistan has become a member of CICA and responds to global challenges such as fostering a sustainable future and security with other countries in the CICA region together. "China is the driver of peace and development," she said, Pakistan has a historically friendly relationship with China, "I want to encourage young people to learn each country's culture directly instead of learning each other from western scholars. I hope the young generation for both Pakistan and China have the same friendship and understanding as do the old generation," she said.
