China-Singapore (Chongqing) Transportation and Logistics Committee's 6th Meeting Held

Recently, the sixth meeting of the Transportation and Logistics Committee for the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity was held in Singapore. The meeting summarized the work progress of the Transportation and Logistics Committee for China-Singapore Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity in 2019, scheduled the implementation of 11 key tasks that were jointly and clearly identified, and reached broad consensus in promoting the China-Singapore demonstration project for multimodal transportation "1+1" operating platform, cooperation between cold-chain logistics enterprises, "the Single Window" cooperation in China-Singapore international trades, and the cooperation in trade and mutual trust project, facilitating the exchanges between logistics industry and associations, and strengthening the training of logistics talents.

Recently, the 6th meeting of the Transportation and Logistics Committee for the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative held.

The meeting pointed out that a series of good news has created a good external environment for promoting China-Singapore cooperation in the domain of transportation and logistics. For example, the Overall Planning for the ILSTC was issued and implemented; the expansion of Guoyuan Port was approved; pilot reform of national logistics cost reduction and efficiency improvement was approved, and the building of port-type international logistics hubs in Chongqing was shortlisted in the country’s first batch of hubs to be built.

The meeting emphasized that it is necessary to focus on the building of ILSTC, seize development opportunities, promote market cooperation, give full play to the role of Chongqing and Singapore as dual hubs, expand and strengthen the corridor logistics and operation organization center, promote the extensive participation of main market players along the corridor, thereby empowering the building of ILSTC in a continuing manner.

The meeting pointed out that a series of good news has created a good external environment for promoting China-Singapore cooperation.

At the meeting, China and Singapore expressed their wishes to facilitate the implementation of the agreed matters through projectization and list-making in six aspects as follows. First, make full preparation for the operation of China-Singapore "1+1" operating platform, start the building of the base, and help the building of a port-type international logistics hub in Chongqing. Second, strengthen the cooperation between cold-chain logistics enterprises of China and Singapore, and welcome Singaporean enterprises to participate in the cold-chain operation cooperation along the ILSTC, in order to benefit both China and Singapore and the market along the ILSTC. Third, promote the cooperation between customs of China (Chongqing) and Singapore and "the Single Window" cooperation in China-Singapore international trade, relying on the logistics platform and sharing mechanisms of China and Singapore and starting from the connectivity of logistics information. Fourth, promote exchanges between logistics industry associations in Chongqing and Singapore, and further improve the overall level of cooperation between China and Singapore in the logistics industry. Fifth, strengthen the exchanges between China and Singapore in the cultivation of logistics talent and intensify the exchange of logistics professionals. The sixth is to encourage and support Chongqing’s entrepreneurial teams and innovation projects in the logistics industry to participate in the logistics innovation and entrepreneurship competition held in Singapore and cultivate and incubate logistics innovation projects with development potential.
