Chongqing - From the press conference of “Banan district builds opening window of Chongqing southward” held on December 27, relying on Chongqing Highway Logistics Base, Banan district has achieved remarkable progress in opening up to the outside world.

In 2019, Banan realized the overall import and export value of 10.5 billion yuan. In the future, Banan district is looking forward to building into an international trade center, a cross-border e-commerce base, and a comprehensive modern logistics center for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. It will become the opening window of Chongqing southward.

Cross-border highway transport channels are more open

Since the Chongqing-ASEAN Highway Regular Lorry Project opening in 2016, it has opened six routes, covering all countries on the Indo-china Peninsula. Besides, a total of more than 30 overseas distribution points has been set, the throughput is about 4,600 standard containers, and the total cargo value is RMB 1.47 billion. In 2019, it has made 1,200 trips and handled about 2,600 standard containers.

At the same time, relying on the Chongqing East Ring Line Railway, Chongqing South Railway Station, and Western Timber Trading Port, Banan will speed up the construction of an international logistics system of intermodal transport of public, mainly through cross-border road transport, supplemented by railway and land and sea.

The logistics distribution operation base is gradually expanding

As the only highway bonded logistics center in Chongqing, Nanpeng Highway Bonded Logistics center (B type) has been in operation since April 2017. It has been settled by 22 enterprises, including Jingdong Global Shopping, with a total value of about 4.8 billion yuan. This year, the value of goods in and out of the region is about 2.7 billion yuan, up about 56% year on year.

In addition, Chongqing international distribution (highway) customs supervision center, which can also meet the functions of inspection, distribution, and storage of import and export goods, has recently passed the customs inspection. Efforts will be made to build import distribution centers and further improve their opening functions.

ASEAN Commodity Centralized Purchasing City, which is Located in ASEAN International Logistics Park of Chongqing, will open its doors in March 2020, and products such as handicrafts and household articles with southeast Asian characteristics will be gradually settled in.

The development of trade and logistics industry is speeding up

Up to now, Chongqing Highway Logistics Base has introduced nearly 50 leading enterprises in trade, logistics and foreign trade, such as Jingdong, SF Express, Alibaba, and attracted more than 3,000 enterprises. It has achieved a market turnover of 135 billion yuan, an annual cargo throughput of about 30 million tons, an annual container throughput of about 1 million standard containers, and an annual volume of about 320 million express packages. The rapid gathering of the trade and logistics industry effectively promotes the opening up and development of the region.
