Chongqing - From the exchange of visits of officials, entrepreneurs and students to imports and exports of dairy and agriculture products, Chongqing and Uruguay have maintained vigorously growing cooperation and communication.
The newly-opened Consulate General of Uruguay in Chongqing takes the endeavor to bring the momentum to an even greater level.
On Dec.26, Ms. Agustina Casavalle, the Deputy Consul General of Uruguay to Chongqing, took the exclusive interview with iChongqing to share her thoughts on the mission of the Consulate General and the cooperation between Chongqing and Uruguay.
“This is our fifth Consulate office of Uruguay in China,” said the Deputy Consul General. The Consulate General in Chongqing focuses on promoting the relation between Uruguay and provinces of Yunan, Sichuan, Shanxi, Gansu and Chongqing Municipality.
The cooperation between Uruguay and Chongqing on the motor industry has laid a solid foundation for the bilateral relation between the two. The renowned Chongqing motor brands, Lifan and Bashan, have found its way into the Uruguay market. More than that, this year has seen the exchange of important visits of officials and entrepreneurs between Chongqing and Uruguay, Uruguay week, coming of Uruguay students to Chongqing, beef export agreement signing and Uruguay modern art exhibition. “Chongqing is very important for us.” Said Ms. Casavalle. She continued, “Chongqing is working very hard to be more and more open to the world. I really appreciate the efforts.” She also looked forward to more cooperation with Chongqing in tourism, trade, agriculture, education and culture in the coming years.
This city held a “special charm”, according to Ms. Casavalle. “People here are very friendly. Chongqing is growing so fast in all the areas. It has everything to offer to foreigners.” She said while sharing the opinions on Chongqing’s consumptions environment.
