Spring Festival is around the corner and the opening ceremony to celebrate a million citizens that travel to Southeast and Northeast Chongqing held on Jan. 16, 2020. The goal is to enrich the supply of cultural tourism products, allow more citizens to share the fruits of the development of cultural tourism in our city, and help cultural tourism consumption alleviate poverty. The ceremony was held at Chongqing Longtousi Tourism Distribution Center. Activities included the latest tickets preferential policies, ten themed activities for the Spring Festival, and ten top-quality tourist routes in Chongqing were released.

To do an excellent job in service guarantee for tourists during the Spring Festival, Chongqing Public Transportation Group provided direct tourist trains for day trips and other products at major stations in downtown Chongqing, as well as the daily security checks and personnel checks. "During the Spring Festival, we will also ensure that citizens can safely and comfortably visit Southeast and Northeast Chongqing so that they can rest assured and have fun," said Zhao Tao, manager of Chongqing Longtousi Tourism Distribution Center.

Qin Dingbo, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, came to announce the launch of the event and stated that the theme of the event is "purchasing souvenirs and helping alleviate poverty" so that while enjoying a preferential journey, the travelers can also enter the impoverished areas and counties in southeast and northeast of Chongqing and experience the unique cultural tourism routes, and use tourism to help the economic development of the districts, counties, and towns. "This event will serve as the beginning of our city's tourism consumption (and) poverty alleviation work, helping Chongqing tourism to reach a new level in 2020."

The promotion period starts from January 16th to February 29th. Citizens from downtown Chongqing can enjoy the ticket discounts with your valid ID (resident ID, valid temporary ID, hukou book). This time, a total of 39 state-owned enterprises and 18 private enterprises will serve at specific provinces, cities, and counties with varying degrees of preferential treatment.
