On January 26, a press conference on the prevention and control of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) pneumonia was held in southwest China’s Chongqing municipality. The officials answered some of the most concerned questions, especially on the medical facilities of the city.
On January 24, Chongqing initiated a Level-I emergency response to the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia disease (2019-nCoV). It's announced that the city has set up 174 fever outpatient clinics, forty-eight designated hospitals, including two foreign-related designated hospitals and 300 isolation wards with 2000 beds to meet the treatment needs.
Public epidemic information is released every morning. Related Departments will continue to answer questions and explain confusion through TV programs, cellphone text messages, posters, and other multimedia channels. In the meantime, the government popularizes health knowledge and teaches the citizens on how to protect themselves in daily life.
Even it's during the Spring Festival, the government tries to help the market to restore normal in masks and other medical supplies. Factories and logistic employees are asked back to work. At present, Shangkun, Baina, and other enterprises in Chongqing are in full operation of producing masks and other medical materials.
