On January 30, Chongqing launched more measures to make the epidemic situation prevention and control work stricter, more concrete, more detailed, and faster. Those who come or return to Chongqing from other regions must stay at home or go to designated areas for a 14-day isolation period. For people who come to Chongqing from key epidemic hot zones will be asked to leave. Public transportation downtown (CRT, buses, taxi) operation hours also be shortened to reduce the chance of public gatherings.  The government promotes online business and work at home.

According to the pneumonia outbreak of new coronavirus infection in Chongqing, everyone must strictly follow the work arrangements of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government. This will help control the spread of the epidemic.

Firstly, continue to strengthen the strict monitoring and management of people who leave Chongqing (or return to Chongqing). Anyone who comes to Chongqing from epidemic key areas is asked to leave, and those who come or return to Chongqing from other regions/countries must stay at home or go to designated areas for 14-day isolation. 

Secondly, vigorously promote the online work of institutions to reduce meetings and minimize staff gathering. Whenever possible, work should be done online until further notice.

2. Continuous scrolling investigation

To improve the investigation, prevention, and control of the virus, according to the Chongqing Municipality's health department, the city will improve safety precautions for communities and villages at this early stage. District and county leaders promised to follow up on all leads.

3. Ensuring students continue to study but not in the classrooms

On January 30, the Municipal Education Commission issued a notice requesting all levels of teaching and research institutions, primary and secondary schools to increase the development of online teaching courseware. This includes the use of electronic textbooks and teaching materials for students before the first day of school and the use of online education platforms.

4. Government Service: Online Business

Government service agencies at all levels in the city should arrange special personnel for online services, such as the "Yu Express Office" online service or mobile app platform to conduct online consultation. 

5. Public transportation hours change in the downtown area

Operating hours are adjusted from 7:30 to 20:30 for CRT and bus routes. All night buses are canceled. Increase the driving interval. CRT Line 1, 2, 3, 6, 10, and the ring road, the driving interval is extended to 20 minutes; Line 4, 5, and 6 branch lines, the driving interval is extended to 30 minutes. The capacity of taxis and online car use in the downtown area were reduced by 50%. The online ride-hailing platform company should keep passenger information for at least 14 days in order to retrieve the information under special circumstances. Vehicles with more than nine seats are suspending operations in the city.
